, Graduated from Michigan State University and Western Michigan
University. Taught psychology for 32 years at Kalamazoo Valley Community
College. I am now paid to train new tenure-track faculty the tricks of
the trade. I have been active in the American Association of University
Professors and have served this organization at the local, state, and
national level. I am married (Elaine) and I have an 18-year-old son (Ian).
Outside of academia, my major interest is fitness. My wife has a
graduate degree in exercise science so she serves as my inspiration and
exercise partner. |

Bruce Callahan, updated 11/24/09, Email: -
arcadie@metrocast.net,
I graduated from Stowe in 1964 and bounced around various colleges and
universities, including the University of Colorado and Belknap College,
did a stint in the USAF, before finally finishing up the Bachelor of
Architecture program at the University of Minnesota School of
Architecture in 1981. I've done various things since, sold boats for a
living, been a professional ski instructor, and worked in the
architectural profession. Currently I work for
a small architectural firm in New Hampshire's Lakes Region and live in
Meredith New Hampshire with my wife Katie and 10 yr old son Finn. |

Geoffrey Oliver, Email:
kachoga@hotmail.com , Attended
New York University with Michael Reed. Landed in the lower east side
before the hippies. Graduate school at NYU. Worked in Museum of Natural
History, NYC while in graduate school at night. Flopped around until I
discovered Japanese woodblock prints and have specialized in them ever
since. I keep thinking I will run into a S.P.S. person, someday but
haven't, yet. S.P.S. saved my life, didn't know it at the time. Some of
the teachers there were best I ever had. Mr. Handy should probably get
credit for that. I still think about them, especially Dr. Naryshkin and
his wife. |
1963-1965 - Mark Harvey, Email:
markharvey@xplornet.com , My name is
Mark Harvey. I am one of a few Canadians who attended Stowe in the mid
sixties. I am married with two grown
girls. I worked for Nabisco for some 25 years and Kraft for several. I
would love to hear from some of my past "preppies". My
wife and I have recently move to a rural setting about 50 miles west on
Edmonton Alberta, Canada. I am semi-retired but still very active with
community events and general odd jobs. We built our home over the past
two years and are still working on the "tough-ups" and landscaping. We
would be please to see anyone who may plan a trip to Alaska ... you'll
drive right by us.
Regards, Mark |

Paul Herzenberg, Email: Bagus2@aol.com,
See article on News and Letters page
I went to and graduated from Goddard, was the only Economics major
there, and then 3 years in the Peace Corps in Malaysia and then Bali and
then Israel on a Kibbutz for a short stint ( up in the Golan Mountains)
and then back to the good old USA round about 73 and then work, work,
work - to this day- We have a kitchen and bath design build company and
do it all; cabinets, counters, tiles, installations, windows -yeeha- but
I do get to work with really great people (15 of us) and some have been
there for 30 years so its like a fam. You know those beautiful kitchens
and baths you see in mags - we do those...very satisfying. My
wife: Liew Kim Lan is from Malaysia and is the most amazing person I
know. Extreme gourmet cook and Master gardener and computer savvy. My
son, 29 will be a full Registered Nurse in a few months and is out in
San Francisco - so life is good and has been good to me and mine and I
hope all my friends from Stowe are as lucky as I. |

Rep for 15 years. Now working for Kalwall Corporation the world largest
producer of translucent panels. |
| 1964 - 1966 - Don
Turner (Tuna), Email:
joraddon@sbcglobal.net ,
I graduated from Stowe in 1966 and went on to Wilkes University in PA
and finished at North Eastern in Boston. I met my wife Kathi in 1971 in
Florida while operating a restaurant that I opened in the Orlando area.
We moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 1973 where I founded and developed a
small chain of restaurants with two partners. We ended up with 22
restaurants from San Diego to Reno. In 1984 I sold that company and
moved to Napa, CA where I have lived for the past 21 years. I own and
operate a small consulting firm, Jorad & Company (named after my
children Jordan and Adam) that specializes in business development,
business recovery consulting, venture capital development and tax and
creditor consulting. We also do general accounting and payroll
processing. Additionally, I own two small hotels in Northern California.
We spend our free time traveling, skiing, playing golf and boating. I am
a twelve year cancer survivor and although I still enjoy my business
endeavors, I have been steadily reducing my business commitments and
focusing my energies on my family and recreational interests for the
past few years. Kathi and I hope to be in Stowe for the reunion this
August and look forward to being in touch with old friends that I
haven't see or heard from in almost forty years. -- Over the years I
have bumped into Ed Gauer who attended SPS in 1965 and Mike Ouellet, who
I discovered also lives in Napa after twenty years of bumping into each
other and not recognizing one another. I would love to hear from Andy
Niss, David Lesnow, John Keiley, Rich Armstrong, Tim Korzon, Chris
Thiele or Terry Taplan. Its been good emailing John DeRonde from time to
time and catching up. Is Jack Handy still alive? What ever happened to
Robin Smith, Art Williams, Jeff Baldwin and Peter Coburn? Is anyone in
touch with these people? |
| 1965 - 1968 -

concerts and television shows all over the world over the next ten
years. Worked on the Senior Team off the Woodstock 94 and Woodstock 99
Festivals. I now work for the State of South Carolina Emergency
Management Division. |

De Ronde, Email:
jderonde@bellsouth.net , After graduation from Stowe Prep I went off
to college in Iowa. Taking a break from college I moved back to Rutland
Vermont where I meet my wife, Cheryl. Following our marriage I returned
to Iowa to finish school. In 1970 we moved to Miami where I was a
manager for a major food store chain. In 1982 I entered into Insurance
sales, eventually having my own agency which I sold in 1997. Since then,
I guess you could say, I've been retired. My wife and I have split our
time between Miami and our home on an island in the Caribbean,
Margarita. During our spare time, of which there never seems to be
enough, we travel, both for our own pleasure and to visit our two
married daughters, one of which lives in Vermont, giving us reason to
travel that way periodically. As for hobbies and/or interests we both
are involved in Genealogical Research (sometimes for $$) and I run a
small Purchasing business for Latin American clients. I keep in touch
with a limited number of Stowe alumni, mostly from the 60's. |

1968 - Pat Toensmeier, E-mail:Ptoensmeie@aol.com,
I graduated -- eventually (1976) -- from the University of Missouri,
where I majored in English. I spent a few years looking for a job in
magazine publishing. I got a break and started at a Hearst Corp.
business tabloid in New York City in 1981. I moved on to a monthly
magazine called Modern Plastics in 1986, which was then published by
McGraw-Hill. I was there for 17 years, eight of which as
editor-in-chief. In May 2003 the magazine, which McGraw-Hill sold in
1999, was sold again and my job was eliminated. I'm currently doing
free-lance work but expect to be back among the gainfully employed soon.
One benefit of working for Modern Plastics was the opportunity to travel
throughout the U.S., to Europe, and to South America and Asia on
business. I also ran into an old friend from the class of 1968, Pete
Hawk, who then as now was working in the plastics industry. We ran into
each other in 1998 in Cobo Auditorium in Detroit at a plastics show. I
recognized him right away. At least some of us have aged gracefully. As
for my personal life, I live in the town where I grew up -- it wasn't
planned, it just happened. I'm not married but have a girlfriend and a
house; no pets but a motorcycle (Harley-Davidson); and I lead a
quiet though interesting (at times) life. I've been in touch with a few
friends from Stowe, but would love to hear from others. I go to Stowe
every few years and enjoy it. It's a shame the school closed, but my
memories are good and remain vivid. |

ne4kftr@msn.com , Ran into Peter
Coburn in Lebanon NH in ~1988, Some years ago I heard JP was in Lake
Placid. John Kirby-Smith was killed in a climbing accident in
Switzerland. Ran into Claudia in Greenville, Maine in '83 or '84 she was
walking across the parking lot of the Air Service I was flying for on Moosehead Lake. Saw Wally Kessler on I-89 one day around 1974, I looked
to my right as I passed him - no mistaking him. We pulled over and
chatted for a bit. Think T.R. Ryan is an attorney in Rutland... Former

who is now in Rochester, NY. I played in a band there for a few years,
then joined a jazz band in Phila. for several months. Moved to Atlanta,

lives in MO. Stowe was a great experience I'll never forget, and am
always grateful to have been there.

1968 - Steve Koplan, E-Mail:
skoplan@gpc.edu, In 1972 I graduated from Windham College with a
degree in English. I then moved to Atlanta where I attended the Emory
University Division of Librarianship and received a masters in 1973.
Following graduation from Emory I spent 25 years as a librarian at the
Georgia Mental Health Institute, a research and training institution in
mental health which also served as a regional hospital until it closed
in 1998. In 1988, I received a Ph.D. in education from Georgia State
University. Since 1999, I've been a librarian and (since 2000) and
Assistant Professor at Georgia Perimeter College, which is a 2-year unit
of the 37-member University System of Georgia. In the next academic year
we plan to start a program which would offer an Associate of Applied
Arts degree for students interested in becoming Library Assistants as
well as those already in the field. (no, it won't make them librarians,
that requires a masters). As I find myself mentoring college students,
it brings back memories of Stowe and all the faculty who shaped my
future life. I only hope I influence my students as positively as they
did for me. - Doug Bennett lives in York, ME. Jim Warburton teaches at
Georgia State University in Atlanta. For many years he was a faculty
member at Oxford College of Emory University ( a 2-year division of
Emory). Jim taught (and teaches) Spanish, as he did at Stowe. |

until ’93, when I returned to CWRU in Cleveland to go to law school,

honeymooning on a drive with my new bride from Chicago to Seattle, where

The fore mentioned daughter was born in Cleveland, shortly before we
left there to return to my wife’s hometown of Chicago. I’ve been
